How did you get involved with Wellspring UCC?
When Jerry [my husband] and I moved here after Jerry agreed to be founding pastor.
What do you currently do at Wellspring?
My primary role is to help with Sunday School. For the past year, I’ve been coordinating our cooperative Sunday School with [a] Chinese church. I also serve on our council. I have also been in charge of outreach, which originally started when I agreed to head up the Centreville Immigration Forum project.
In what ways does Wellspring serve the community?
I think Wellspring provides a progressive voice. Wellspring, from the very beginning, has become open and affirming, regardless of their gender or sexual orientation. I think we have been a consistent voice in terms of being open and affirming. We have provided a spiritual home for lots of folks who have needed that.
