Our Covenant

Relying on God's help and blessing, we covenant with one another to each bring our own gifts to be a united and uniting church.

Our vision is to be a challenging and nurturing Christian community, fully accessible to all that ... 

• Affirms a diversity of age, race, culture, life circumstance, religious background, and sexual orientation;
  
• Engages the larger community and world through mission and outreach;
  
• Meets the needs and spiritual concerns of a variety of families and people;
  
• Offers the choice of an open and inclusive Christian congregation, rooted in the faith traditions of the United Church of Christ;
  
• Provides a Biblical base of spiritual support and growth for God's people with various needs;
  
• Provides spiritual sustenance for our everyday lives.

We invite all people who are committed to our vision and who are seeking God to join us as they are able.


Our Mission

We use our gifts and resources to share God's love with all;  we remember that our covenant calls us to affirm diversity and welcome others.

In July 2007, the congregation developed plans for the year ahead, to make this mission "walk on the ground."

Our goals for 2007-2008 include:

• Expanding our mission to the wider world, including support for UCC mission work;
• Maintaining fellowship with our sister church Peniel Four-Square Gospel Church in Zambrano, Colombia;
• Serving the Centreville-Manassas area by helping to build community and reduce homelessness. 

• Offer our time and energy at Western Fairfax Christian Ministries in hands on activities, including efforts to reduce homelessness;
• Organize events for engaging the community-at-large in dialogue on common concerns and problems;
• Participate in local community events and festivals (e.g., Celebrate Fairfax or Centreville Days) to increase our presence, recogition, and visibility and to invite others to mission with us;
• Provide volunteer services for the new Kate Hanley Family Shelter in Western Fairfax;
• Suport our sister church Peniel Four-Square Gospel Church in Zambrano, Colombia through prayer and advocacy.
